Daniel Velema, Managing Director of Koenig & Bauer Durst

For the first time, Koenig & Bauer Durst will present "the VariJet 106, a monster of a machine, in full production flow at Drupa", according to Daniel Velema, Managing Director of Koenig & Bauer Durst. The joint venture will also unveil new water-based inks and exhibit the Delta SPC 130 optimized with Durst Workflow and Durst Analytics.

Koenig & Bauer Durst will be exhibiting several solutions for the packaging market at Drupa 2024, to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, from May 28 to July 7, 2024. The focal point of the stand of the joint venture between manufacturers Koenig & Bauer and Durst will be the VariJet 106 digital folding carton press.

The VariJet 106, "the best of conventional and digital printing"

Presented to the public in action for the first time, the B1 VariJet 106 single-pass inkjet press will be exhibited in a hybrid printing configuration with die-cutting and fold-gluing modules.
Visitors will be able to see the press in operation during daily demonstrations. Available samples, produced on this machine in partnership with a beta customer, will showcase examples of applications the machine is capable of, such as folding cartons for the pharmaceutical, health and beauty, and food and beverage markets, using variable data, special colors and different coatings.

Daniel Velema, Managing Director of Koenig & Bauer Durst, comments: "We're looking forward to presenting the VariJet 106, a monster of a machine, in full production flow at Drupa. It combines the best of conventional and digital printing."

The first white inkjet ink for primary food packaging

A new ink will also be unveiled. This water-based white inkjet ink is suitable for printing on brown substrates for primary food packaging.
"Koenig & Bauer Durst is the first company in the world to offer digital white inks for primary food packaging", emphasizes the group.

Delta SPC 130 sheet-fed press with Durst Workflow and Durst Analytics

Koenig & Bauer Durst will also be showcasing the Delta SPC 130 single-pass sheetfed digital press for digital white applications. A control station will be set up on the stand to demonstrate how the Delta SPC 130 operates in a production environment using Durst Workflow, designed to speed up the prepress process and production while improving print quality, and Durst Analytics, which harnesses press data and presents it in the form of a dashboard.

"Drupa will mark an important milestone in our journey in the folding carton and corrugated board markets. The tipping point is here. Corrugated and folding carton printers/converters who want to increase efficiency, flexibility and work even more closely with brands and retailers recognize that they need to digitize their production environments."

The Koenig & BauerDurst team will be on hand to welcome visitors at stand A31-1 in Hall 16.
