Specializing in books, magazines and catalogs, Imprimerie Pollina is modernizing its production with Kodak's ,new CTP VLF, ordered for Drupa 2024, which reaches 52 offset plates per hour.

The first Kodak Magnus Q3600 Titan plate imager will be installed at a French printing house. At Drupa 2024, Imprimerie Pollina, based in Luçon, France, signed a purchase order for this Kodak VLF (very large format) CTP with multipallet loader (MPL) automation and high-speed W option. The company, which specializes in books, magazines and catalogs, will replace two of its three Magnus VLF CTPs with this new equipment, which has a 30% smaller footprint than its nearest competitor.

Imprimerie Pollina, which operates six B1 and VLF sheetfed offset presses and two web offset presses, produces around 400 printing plates a day. The Magnus Q3600 Titan can handle eight different plate formats (five with pallets and three with cassettes). With its MPL loader, 7800 plates can be loaded. And earlier this year, it replaced its conventional offset plates with Kodak Sonora Xtra uncoated plates.

"By investing in the new Magnus Q3600 Titan plate imager, we are significantly modernizing and streamlining our plate production, explains Laurent Pollina, President, who runs the company with his brothers Stéphane and Paul-Alain. We have long been impressed by the consistency and precise reproducibility of Kodak Squarespot imaging technology." He also appreciates the speed of the new imaging system, which reaches 52 plates per hour.
