As of March 1, 2025, Inapa France disappeared to make way for Ovol France, marking its integration into the Japanese group Ovol Japan Pulp and Paper. This name change follows lightning bolt acquisition completed in four months, on November 29, 2024 , as a result of Inapa IPG's financial difficulties the distributor's Portuguese parent company. Its visual communications subsidiary, Inapa Loos, becomes Ovol Sign and Display.
A three-pronged strategy: paper distribution, visual communication and packaging
The backing of a solid shareholder base enables Ovol France to ensure the continuity of its activities while consolidating its market positions. The development strategy is based on three segments: paper distribution, visual communication and packaging.
In the paper market, the Group aims to reinforce its leadership by further digitizing its services to enhance the customer experience.
In the field of visual communication, Ovol Sign and Display is aiming for a place among the top 5 French distributors. "Our shareholder fully shares our vision and gives us the means to accelerate our development in this fast-growing sector" explains Alexis Dormoy, COO of Ovol France.
Lastly, the packaging business will develop via an expanded range of eco-designed solutions.
Continuity and stability
While the visual identity has evolved, the internal organization remains unchanged. Ovol France wishes to reassure its long-standing partners and customers of the continuity of its services and the stability of its operations. "We are a successful company that has come through a difficult period. Today, we have a clear course and an assertive ambition, supported by a reference shareholder." says Alexis Dormoy.
This consolidation in France is part of a broader strategy of European expansion. Already present in the UK via Premier Paper, the Japanese company has also taken over Inapa Germany at the same time as Inapa France. With 122 subsidiaries in 22 countries and sales of 3.3 billion euros, it is strengthening its presence on the continent and accelerating its expansion.
"This acquisition clearly illustrates the Ovol Japan Pulp and Paper Group's determination to assert itself as a world leader in the distribution of paper, packaging and solutions for visual communication." explains Afonso Chaby, CEO of Ovol France.
