For its 175th anniversary, Heidelberg didn't choose half measures. Over 1,500 international guests gathered in Wiesloch-Walldorf, Germany, to attend the inauguration of the new Print Media Center, renamed Home of Print.
9000 m 2 dedicated to offset, flexo and digital printing
With this 9,000 m 2 billed as the graphics industry's largest demonstration center, Heidelberg is showcasing its full range of products and services, from prepress to finishing, for commercial printing, packaging and labels. Production lines in operation include the Speedmaster offset press for folding cartons and the Boardmaster flexographic press for high-volume packaging.
"Our Home of Print reflects the growth strategy of our core business, which makes Heidelberg a provider of collaborative, complete solutions and an end-to-end systems integrator for packaging and commercial printing." says David Schmedding, Technical and Sales Director at Heidelberg. "It's unique in the sector."

Heidelberg has also set up a data lab featuring case studies illustrating the use of production data. This enables performance to be analyzed, bottlenecks to be identified and processes to be optimized. All this is supported by the Prinect software suite, which controls presses, finishing operations, consumables management, maintenance services and training modules.
A place for technical testing, training and demonstration
Every year, around 1,000 customized demonstrations are carried out at this demo center, which employs 120 people. Customers can bring in their own files or jobs to test the machines in real-life conditions.
The site also offers open days for German and international customers, guided tours for brands, schools and universities, and technical training for in-house maintenance teams. Heidelberg also has demonstration centers in the USA, China, Japan, Indonesia and Switzerland.
And two other major announcements: the launch of the CX 145 and finishing for the Jetfire 50
And among other anniversary highlights, Heidelberg unveiled the Cartonmaster CX 145, a 105 x 145 cm very large format offset press specifically designed for industrial production of folding cartons, as well as integration of CP Bourg and Tecnau converting solutions into the Jetfire 50 inkjet press ecosystem .
