The reshaping of the graphic arts landscape in Normandy continues. A few months after the announcement of redundancies at Corlet Imprimeur, the 4âeuros255Â m building 2 in Condé-en-Normandie dedicated to digital technology has found a buyer. It won't remain vacant: the printer Tonnellier, also located in the same business park, has become the owner for 1.08 million euros, according to the minutes of the Intercom de la Vire au Noireau (IVN) community council meeting.
Built in 2008 on a plot of almost 30âeuros000Â m 2 the building had been designed to support the rise of digital printing at book, press, publishing and catalog printer Corlet. The family business, founded in 1961, had obtained a commercial lease running until 2031. However, a drop in activity led management to move the business to its adjacent sheet-fed offset site, and to request early termination from IVN, the site owner.
The Tonnellier Group, which comprises three companies - imprimerie Tonnellier, imprimerie Malherbe and imprimerie Facedim - sees this acquisition as an opportunity for growth. Specializing in the printing and finishing of packaging items, it was looking to expand its real estate base in order to rationalize production, according to the company Ouest France.
