Edale strengthens its sales and marketing department

Edale, a Canon subsidiary specializing in flexographic printing and converting solutions, announces the appointment of Rob Brown as Sales and Marketing Director.
With almost 30 years' experience, including at OKI Europe as Sales Manager for North-West Europe and export, Rob Brown will support the launch of the new CartonLine and LabelLine ranges, scheduled for 2026.
In his new role, Rob will lead Edale's global sales operations, marketing strategy and distribution partnerships, with the aim of supporting growth in the label and folding carton segments", says the company. In particular, the company is investing in automation, one-pass production and workflow intelligence.

Martin Bethenod appointed head of Cnap

Culture Minister Rachida Dati has appointed Martin Bethenod to head the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap). He will take up his post on January 6, 2026. A former delegate for the visual arts, general curator of the FIAC and director of several institutions in the Pinault Collection, he succeeds Béatrice Salmon. His responsibilities will include overseeing the Cnap's move to Pantin, scheduled for the end of 2026, and overseeing the development of support mechanisms for the French art scene.

Graphic Packaging changes CEO in turbulent climate

American cardboard manufacturer Graphic Packaging has announced the appointment of Robbert Rietbroek as CEO, effective January 1, 2026. He will succeed Michael Doss in a tense context: the group has just opened a new recycled board mill in Waco, Texas, and has launched a cost and production optimization plan. These announcements, perceived as a strategic repositioning by analysts, did not reassure the markets, with the stock losing over 50% of its value in one year.

Stora Enso reorganizes its management

Stora Enso has announced a number of changes to its Executive Committee, as part of its strategic transformation and the planned demerger of its Swedish forestry activities by 2027. Tuomas Hallenberg will head this future entity and will step down from the Group Executive Committee at the end of 2025.
A new Wood and Energy division will also come into being on January 1, 2026. It will bring together wood procurement, trading, wood products, energy and sawmills in Central Europe. Pauli Torikka will be Executive Vice President and a member of the Management Board.
Lars Völkel, currently Head of Wood Products, will succeed Hannu Kasurinen as Head of the Corrugated Board (Containerboard) business, the latter retiring after 32 years with the Group.
The new management team will include Hans Sohlström as CEO, Lars Völkel, Pauli Torikka and eight other executives, illustrating the Group's determination to adapt its governance to its future operational structure.

A new business development manager at James Cropper

British papermaker James Cropper Paper & Packaging has appointed Mike Gibson as Business Development Director, as part of its expansion into new markets and exploration of new product opportunities.
Joining the Group in May 2025 as Business Development Manager (BDM), Mike Gibson has over 25 years' experience in the paper, packaging and corrugated sectors, with expertise covering bags, food packaging and retailer packaging. He has held positions at Cepac, H-Pack and ARC International in the USA, where he worked with a number of corrugators and contributed to the development of Marks & Spencer's reusable paper bag.

Mike Gibson joins a strengthened sales team, with Julia Lawrence, recently appointed Regional Accounts Manager, and Mickael Minot, appointed earlier this year as Key Account Manager.

Sebastian Teichmann appointed Service Manager Europe at Inkcups

Inkcups, the American manufacturer of industrial printing solutions, has strengthened its technical service in Europe with the appointment of Sebastian Teichmann as Service Manager Europe. Based in Germany and with over twenty years' experience in inkjet printing, notably with Kornit Digital, EFI and Fujifilm, Sebastian Teichmann will oversee installations, technical support and system integrations throughout Europe and the UK.

Arnaud Boyer elected Chairman of UPE

Arnaud Boyer was elected President of the Union de la Publicité Extérieure (UPE) on December 11. He succeeds Valérie Decamp, who had been acting president since January 2025, following the departure of Stéphane Dottelonde.

It aims to raise UPE's profile and defend the interests of the outdoor advertising industry, while keeping pace with changes in the sector, notably the rise of digital out-of-home advertising (DOOH) and the decentralization of advertising regulation.
