Europe's leading provider of food packaging solutions, Guillin, is pursuing its strategy of geographic expansion with the acquisition, via its subsidiary AlterecoPack, of the Belgian companies Gruyaert Verpakking and Verpakkingen V de V. The two companies, which specialize in cardboard packaging for pastry and food products, had combined sales of 19 million euros in 2024, and employ around forty people.
Consolidation in the carton segment
Gruyaert Verpakking has established itself as a key player in the manufacture of customized cardboard pastry boxes. Its production largely supplies the distribution activities of Verpakkingen V de V, another Belgian company involved in the same takeover operation.
Both entities will retain their workforce and activities in Belgium. Their integration into the Guillin Group will strengthen the business of Wefold, a Group subsidiary created at the beginning of 2025, which groups together all companies specializing in paper and cardboard packaging .
With this acquisition, Guillin "continues to expand its product offering" to meet all the needs of its customers, and "further consolidates its recognized expertise in the food packaging solutions market" says the French group.
Based in Ornans in the Doubs region of France, the Guillin parent company, headed by Sophie Guillin, which posted sales of 869.7 million euros in 2024 and employs 3âeuros500Â people, already had 35 companies in Europe, including three in Belgium. The family-owned group is present in over 70 countries and boasts a portfolio of 25,000 product references in professional food packaging.
In 2025, Guillin expanded by Cartonnerie Moderne, Défi Imprimerie and Alpes Emballages set up in France .
