30 installations for Comexi Offset CI Evolution

Comexi has installed 30 CI Evolution flexible packaging and label offset presses worldwide, launched in 2015.
This stage is marked by several repeat orders, including four recent ones.
For the Spanish manufacturer, these renewed orders show that this technology has gone from being "interesting" to being proven, scalable and profitable.
Comexi Offset CI Evolution is based on electron-beam (EB) drying, with no solvents or VOCs. This technology enables printing on thin PE or PP films without heat input, with stable register at high speeds. It is aimed in particular at single-material structures, in line with growing recyclability requirements and changes in European regulations (PPWR), for bags, pouches and lids, as well as shrink sleeves, wrap-around labels and IML.

Daddy Kate sells ICR Group Imprimeries site

Daddy Kate Group, which has decided to relocate the ICR Group Imprimeries business acquired in early 2024, is putting the company's industrial site up for sale.
Located at Tournai in Froyennes, Belgium, the building concerned covers 3â?¬630Â m2 of industrial and technical space.

Stic Image awarded the "Imprimeur engagé pour le réemploi" (Printer committed to recycling) label

Stic Image, a Lyon-based printer of self-adhesive labels, has just been awarded the Imprimeur engagé pour le réemploi label by France Consigne.
Founded in 1994, the company has been involved in the reuse sector from the outset, working on appropriate and sustainable technical solutions, in particular alongside players in the deposit system.
After adapting its machinery and following the certification process, Stic Image is now recognized for its expertise in helping customers find label solutions compatible with the reuse of containers.

Mimaki obtains 3M MCS certification for its UCJV330 printers

The Mimaki UCJV330 large-format printer and the LUS-170 and LUS-175 UV inks used on this machine are now approved under the 3M MCS warranty program.
This 3M program covers the performance of finished graphics throughout their expected life, including against fading, cracking, peeling, blistering or color degradation. This approval applies to led-UV models UCJV330-130 and UCJV330-160 with CMYK, light cyan and light magenta inks (LUS-175 available by country).

A plant in Côte d'Or to convert glassine into insulating material

The Soprema group has just inaugurated a new plant in Beaune (Côte-d'Or) dedicated to the manufacture of cellulose wadding, a biosourced insulating material produced from recycled paper and glassine.
Historically made from newspaper, the cellulose wadding produced in Beaune now includes glassine. Soprema has set up a specific collection circuit and obtains its supplies from local manufacturers and players. In Europe, annual glassine production is estimated at 550,000 tonnes.
The site, which required an investment of 30 million euros, should eventually employ around thirty people.
