Quadient is launching the iX-9, an industrial franking system designed for print service providers, mailrooms, and mailing service providers that handle large volumes of mail. The iX-9 can process up to 15%E2euros%89500 pieces per hour and reach 9%E2euros%89500 pieces per hour when each piece is weighed individually.
The postage system accepts envelopes up to 20 mm thick, including bubble-wrap envelopes and postcards. A dynamic scale automatically identifies the size and weight of mail items to apply the appropriate postage. It also allows you to mark mail items (WT or CIP).
The iX-9 also includes a sorting function. This option allows for the automatic creation of batches based on user-defined parameters. An OCR module can also sort mail by weight, size, or departmental destination to prepare uniform shipments. The French manufacturer, listed on Euronext Paris, notes that La Poste?s discounts for Premium Industrial Mail (CIP) are available starting at 1%E2euros%89000 pieces.
The iX-9 can be connected to the manufacturer's envelope stuffing systems as well as to the MAS software, which is used to track and analyze postage expenses at one or more locations.
According to Jerome Danzin, director of the software department at Quadient, " "Companies that manage critical document workflows now expect the same level of automation, productivity, and traceability for their physical communications as they do for their digital processes." . Jerome Danzin also highlights the new requirements for industrial mail related to Smart Data, a La Poste initiative based on the exchange of digital data for the preparation and tracking of mailings.
