With its two new Heidelberg folders, the Morault Group's printing plant is doubling its productivity.

The flagship of the Morault group, the Imprimerie de Compiègne located in the Oise, is now equipped with seven folding machines. Last October and January, two new folding machines arrived at the 100-strong printing works, a Heidelberg Stahlfolder KH 82-P and a Stahlfolder TH 66.

"The main purpose of these investments is to strengthen our productivity. We have now doubled our production capacity", explains François Morault, the manager of the printing site in Compiègne.

The printer details: "With the TH 66 folding machine, we are increasing our finishing speed, especially on high-volume road plans. And with the KH 82-P, we can increase productivity enormously on flyers thanks to its web feeder." With this feeder, the sheets to be folded are not separated from each other, but feed the folder as a web with overlapping sheets.
"This increases the production capacity by 30 to 50 % while keeping the same machine speed and therefore the quality of processing".

In addition, the new KH 82-P folder is specifically adapted to the requirements of industrial notebook production. "It's ideal for 16-page signatures, which we do regularly on our 8-color web-fed offset press."

Both Stahlfolder folders are equipped with Palamides Delta outputs. On the TH 66, this output allows documents to be put on a belt, and with the KH 82-P, this equipment takes out the signatures in bundles.

And the print shop, always looking for improvements, is now thinking about the next investment, which should be a UV coater with reserve.
