X-Rite's i1Pro 3, X-Rite's new generation of spectrophotometers

The third generation i1Pro 3 spectrophotometer would be twice as fast, more reliable and more accurate than the previous range.

X-Rite, Pantone's parent company, is unveiling the third generation of its i1 spectrophotometers for print, imaging and photography professionals. The X-Rite i1Pro 3 colour calibration tools are reportedly more accurate and reliable and twice as fast as the predecessor range, according to the manufacturer.

The new X-Rite i1Pro 3 series of spectrometers features a custom full-spectrum LED light source, which enables single pass scanning and improves instrument reliability and accuracy.
It performs M0, M1 and M2 measurements in a single pass to take into account optical brighteners. The pre-press operator and the machine operator can thus predict the colour rendering on media containing optical brighteners under different lighting conditions. Printing press operators can read smaller patches (6 mm x 6 mm) twice as fast as the i1Pro 2, with increased accuracy.

The X-Rite i1Pro 3 series consists of four spectrometers, dedicated to colour on all media for the printing, imaging and photography industries.

X-Rite will present this new generation of tools for the first time in Europe at Drupa 2020, 16-26 June in Düsseldorf, Germany. But the range is already available.
