A printer launches a graphic design competition that highlights varnish and gilding

2D, 3D, textured, glossy or matt varnish, gilding... It's up to you!

The digital printing company AGG Print offers a small, very friendly design competition, open to everyone, professional and amateur graphic designers alike.
The brief is simple: "Make an original creation by exploiting the infinite potential of textured or selective varnish and foil in gold and silver." .

The company located in Villeurbanne near Lyon in the Rhone region of France has just acquired a JETvarnish 3D One from MGI and Konica, a machine for applying 2D and 3D varnishes to all types of printed matter (read Three new Konica and MGI digital machines at AGG Print ). And the possibilities of this finishing press are completed by a manual gilding machine.

"This contest is an opportunity to communicate the new possibilities offered by this machine in a playful way." explains Denis Ochanine, President of AGG Print.

The original creation must use layers of varnish and/or foil. The varnish can be flat or 3D, i.e. raised or even textured (like a crocodile skin or water drop effect). For the competition, the foil is limited to three gilding colours: glossy gold, matt gold and glossy silver. And the designs must be in A5 format.

To find inspiration and discover the possibilities of these finishes, examples have been put online by the printer.

The entries will be voted on online and the winner will receive 500 euros worth of prints ennobled with the JETvarnish 3D One.

The files of the creations are to be sent to AGG Print before 6 April 2020 and the graphic designer of the printing company, Antoine, will answer the technical questions of the candidates if necessary.
