Historically low CO2 figures at Lessebo Paper

The Swedish paper manufacturer Lessebo Paper has presented an impressive CO2 emission balance sheet for the year 2020: the production of pulp and paper generates only 22 kg of CO2 per tonne of finished product, whereas a producer of equivalent products emits 616 kg (according to the European Association of Graphic Paper Producers). Lessebo Paper's emissions are therefore 96% lower than those of an average graphic paper producer.

Since 2013, the manufacturer has reduced its CO2 emissions from pulp and paper production by more than 76%. "This development clearly shows that our environmental strategy is successful. We are continuously improving our operations and support this with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified management systems" explains Eric Sigurdsson, CEO of Lessebo Paper.
