Clariant's inks complement the Belgian manufacturer's Orgacon brand.

Agfa is now the owner of the Clariant Group's portfolio of Prelect TPS Nano Silver conductive inks. Clariant, the Swiss specialty chemicals company, and the Belgian manufacturer of large-format digital presses, CTP, healthcare imaging technology and inks, announced on November 17 the signing of an agreement whereby Agfa becomes the owner of Clariant's portfolio of materials for printed electronics.

After a thorough strategic review, Clariant decided that its electronic materials business was not sufficiently aligned with its strategy. The group had unveiled these inks at Drupa 2016 and cited very broad applications such as connected packaging, photovoltaic panel cells, mobile phone antennas and touch sensor interconnects.

With this transfer, Agfa expands the products of its conductive materials brand Orgacon with these new functional inks for the automotive, industrial and clean energy markets.
