Eco3 launches a new uncoated offset plate, the Eclipse Pro, "simpler to use and smarter" . Suitable for the commercial segment, this offset plate offers wide press latitude, superior and stable image contrast and exceptional scratch resistance, says the manufacturer.
This untreated plate is based on the eCO3 concept, launched by Agfa in 2016 prior to the takeover of its plate business a concept that encompasses ecology, economy and extreme convenience.
The printing latitude of the Eclipse Pro enables rapid press start-ups and restarts with minimal paper waste, according to Eco3.
What's more, this plate requires no major modification to the existing configuration, fitting easily into the workflow in place of a conventional plate.
Convenience of use is enhanced by the plate's ability to print with conventional inks as well as H-UV and led-UV inks.
Eclipse Pro also boasts high, stable image contrast, visible for over 24 hours when exposed to office lighting.
This contrast, which provides a distinct image, makes visual inspection and press mounting quick and easy, and the longer stability saves the time normally spent storing plates, stresses Eco3.
Another plus: these sheets are extremely scratch-resistant. "With a very robust surface, the plate is better protected all the way from the case to the CTP loader and on to the press. This facilitates handling and guarantees high print quality every time."
And without treatment, it eliminates the need for treatment equipment and chemicals, reducing energy consumption and eliminating the time and cost of equipment maintenance and waste management.
Eclipse Pro will be on show in Hall 5 at Drupa, to be held in Düsseldorf from May 28 to June 7.
