New acquisition for AR Packaging

AR Packaging strengthens its position in pharmaceutical packaging.

AR Packaging continues its growth in the healthcare sector. The Swedish group takes over the German company Kroha, which specialises in folding carton packaging for pharmaceutical products.

Kroha, a family-owned company with 250 employees, produces folding cartons and inserts for the pharmaceutical market with two plants located in Miesbach and Barleben, Germany.

By the end of 2019, AR Packaging, which employs 5500 people, had already announced two acquisitions of pharmaceutical packaging manufacturers, the Swiss K+D AG and the German RLC Packaging (read Two acquisitions for AR Packaging ).

The group based in Sweden has a turnover of more than 900 million euros with around 30 plants in 13 countries specialising in carton and flexible packaging for health, but also consumer goods, food packaging and composite cans.

"AR Packaging has a clear strategic focus on healthcare packaging that is very much in line with Kroha's ambitions, said Franz Kroha, the director of Kroha. I am convinced that my company will have the best development opportunities thanks to AR Packaging's expertise and strong commitment to quality, speed and customer focus."

This acquisition is subject to various regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
