Big internet outage

During the night of Tuesday 9 to Wednesday 10 March 2021, a fire destroyed one of the 30 OVHcloud (ex-OVH) datacenters, located in Strasbourg.
3.6 million HTTP servers representing 464,000 domain names became inaccessible in a few hours, according to data from Netcraft, an American Internet monitoring specialist.
The CEO of OVHcloud, Michel Paulin, mentioned on Thursday on the air of BFMTV, 12 000 to 16 000 companies affected.
Companies without a backup system may have permanently lost the data lost in the fire.
According to the first elements, an inverter was the cause of the fire.

The rate of use of the wood, paper and printing industry has increased slightly

In February 2021, activity increased slightly in industry, business services and construction, according to the Banque de France's monthly report.
The capacity utilisation rate increased by more than one point to 76% on average in February (it was 79% before the crisis). Most sectors recorded a slight increase in the capacity utilization rate.
For the wood, paper and printing sector, this rate reaches 75% in February 2021 (73% in January 2021). In February 2020, it was almost 78%.

WorldSkills France competition schedule unveiled

Suspended due to the health crisis, the WorldSkills competition for young people under 23 years of age is back on. The 46th edition of WorldSkills France is, this year, organised in two selection phases, between 30 March and 16 October 2021.
The young professionals in the graphic industry will compete in phase 1, on June 8 and 9, 2021 at the Guttenberg vocational school in Strasbourg for the driver's job and on June 29 and 30 at the SEPR in Lyon for the graphic designer's job.

At the end of the phase 1 tests, each competitor will obtain a mark representing 20 to 50% of the final mark. This will be completed by the Phase 2 score in early 2022.
The candidates selected in phase 2 will join the French teams: one will represent France at the WorldSkills competition in China in Shanghai in 2022 and the other at the European competition EuroSkills in Russia in Saint Petersburg in 2023.

Attention: the deadline for the Mlle Pitch Awards & Co creative competition is approaching

There are only a few days left to take part in the great Mlle Pitch Awards & Co creative competition, organised by the Mlle Pitch communications agency in partnership with the Abbé Pierre Foundation. For this first edition, professionals and students in art and communication have until Sunday, March 14, 2021 to send in their work on the association for housing the disadvantaged.
The participants have to work on the indignation that Abbé Pierre would have towards the situations of the most fragile in our society. Four categories of production are possible: the 4x3 poster, the 30 to 45 second video, the digital and social media activation campaign and the transmedia campaign.
