Exclusive / GMI partners with another employers' union

By joining forces, the two organizations will approach 20% representation.

The GMI (professional organization of communication and printing) has signed a partnership with Fespa France, a union that brings together professionals in screen printing and large format digital printing.

"The GMI will join forces with Fespa France to develop its representativeness at the branch level, explains Gilles Mure-Ravaud, President of the GMI (employers' union of the printing industry). By uniting, the two organizations will approach 20% of representativeness.

"We are the only employers' association that has increased its membership over the last five years. This is thanks to two components: on the one hand, the companies of Fespa France that have joined us, and on the other hand, a canvassing campaign carried out over the last year to find some of the 80% of French printers who are not members of an employers' union explains Gilles Mure-Ravaud.

For example, the GMI conducted a webinar in mid-March on how to use social media. The event was attended by 65 participants, including a dozen printers who were not part of GMI or any other organization.

This type of event allows us to attract new members," explains the president of the GMI. The union organization is also very present in legal support, reinforced support to help them master their regulatory environment in this period of crisis, and on social networks in addition to its daily work: advice to members, GMI Infos magazine, weekly newsletters, website, etc.

The GMI signs the agreement on promotion or retraining through Pro-A work-study programs

In other union news, the GMI signed an agreement on January 27 with all the representative trade unions on promotion or retraining through Pro-A work-study programs.

Retraining or promotion through work-study programs (Pro-A) is a system designed to revitalize the training methods available to employees. It enables employees, particularly those whose qualifications are insufficient in the light of changes in technology or work organization, to promote their professional development or promotion and to remain in employment.
