At today's Fespa trade show in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Ricoh is launching a direct-to-film (DTF) digital printing system for the garment industry, the Ricoh Pro D1600.
The first high-volume DTF solution integrates a powder agitator and a drying unit that eliminates a traditional bottleneck. The Pro D1600 reaches speeds in excess of 20 m 2 per hour. It comes in large rolls for fewer changes. The three Ricoh print heads specially designed for this solution handle films up to 1,600 mm. Ricoh reports that Ricoh Pro DTF ink offers a highly opaque white.
Ricoh is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) program, which demands ecological and social criteria and relies on independent certification of the entire textile supply chain (from processing to distribution).
Axel Stuhlreiter, Head of Textile Solutions for the Graphic Communications Group at Ricoh Europe, states: "This latest addition to our portfolio paves the way for the production of high-volume designs that can be printed and shipped for local and on-demand application on garments.
Ideally suited to screen printers and industrial garment decorators looking to make the transition to digital or enhance their digital capabilities, the Pro D1600 is responsive and sustainably responsible."
