Two new products at SwissQprint for large format roll-to-roll printing

The manufacturer launches a new machine and a new feature in its roll-to-roll range.

SwissQprint expands its offering in large format roll-to-roll printing. The Swiss manufacturer of large format printing machines launches the Karibu S, a faster version of the Karibu digital roll-to-roll printer and offers an automatic duplex printing option for the Karibu and the Karibu S.

The Karibu S, faster version

The Karibu and the S version are two UV led printers of 340 cm width in CMYK + 5 channels in option (CMN in light, white, varnish), fluorescent pink or yellow ).

With four print heads per ink channel, the Karibu S achieves a print speed of 330 m 2 /hour (and 212 m 2 /h for the Karibu model). Thanks to this high speed, the Karibu S is perfect for high volume production, the manufacturer points out.

The inks of the Karibu have been developed by SwissQprint specifically for roll-to-roll printing. Their adhesion and flexibility allow printing on almost all media (backlit media, textiles, films, vinyls, tarpaulins, wallpapers, etc.) and easy processing (cutting, folding, stretching, etc.).

Automatic double-sided printing on the Karibu and Karibu S

Another new feature is that the Karibu and Karibu S reel-to-reel printers can be equipped with the automatic double-sided printing function.

Thanks to a built-in camera and QR codes printed next to each image, the printer tracks their positioning and reference.

Once the printed roll has been turned over, the machine, controlled by the swissQprint Lory editing software, automatically adjusts the reverse side printing to the nearest 1/10th of a millimeter. "Operators save time and the risk of error is reduced" emphasizes SwissQprint.
