The self-described "medium-sized" German printing ink manufacturers Epple Druckfarben and Zeller + Gmelin announce their collaboration in the development of UV-curable inks. And to mark the official start of their cooperation, the two producers present the first fruit of this partnership.
The two groups, which were founded more than 150 years ago, are launching LightStar UV LE - led, a jointly developed range of CMYK inks for UV, LE-UV and H-UV led sheetfed offset printing, on the international market for printing on paper.
Epple is responsible for the marketing of this range, while Zeller + Gmelin takes responsibility for the production of the ink series.
"The new LightStar UV ink series will be the beginning of a successful business relationship between Epple Druckfarben and Zeller + Gmelin." says Stefan Schülling, member of the board of directors of Epple Druckfarben.
Further launches of ink ranges for different application areas are already in the planning stage.
Andreas Koch, head of printing inks at Zeller + Gmelin, states: "As specialists in UV ink technology, we can ideally bring our expertise to the product range of Epple Druckfarben. Through coordination and synergy between our two companies, we will produce UV ink series that will print in the best possible way and customers in the sheetfed offset sector will benefit."
