Heidelberg's Versafire EV digital press is getting two new 5th color application options. The German manufacturer unveiled, during the online event "It's showtime", a gold toner and a silver toner for this printing machine which processes weights up to 360 g/m 2 . These two toners will be available soon.
The gold and silver toners can be used alone or combined with the four four-color process colors of the press to create a multitude of metallic effect colors.
Gold and silver ink can be applied to white substrates as well as to dark and transparent materials.
"Users of the five-color system will have even greater flexibility than before when it comes to designing creative print that will have even more impact at the point of sale." emphasizes Heidelberg.
The toners can be used with existing Versafire EVs.
These two new toners bring the press' fifth color capability to seven. The Versafire EV press can already apply opaque white, clear toner (coating), neon yellow, neon pink and invisible red (which is only revealed under a black light).
