EFI announces its new EFI Fiery FS500 Pro platform

Innovations in automation, color and job processing to meet new market challenges.

EFI announced in mid-October the launch of its new platform EFI Fiery FS500 Pro . With its advanced automation, color and job processing technology, the Fiery digital print server is designed to meet new market challenges: shorter print runs and deadlines, increased security standards and the need to reduce costs. The new platform brings innovations to digital printers in the office, retail, in-house printing, packaging and textile printing markets.

Responding to new market challenges

"Now that the industry is beginning to recover from the recent recession, print companies in all sectors are looking for solutions that can improve productivity, reduce waste and shorten turnaround times, says John Henze, vice president of sales and marketing, EFI Fiery.

The Fiery FS500 Pro platform features five main innovation stations: faster job processingfree; faster turnaround on short runsfree; more marketable prints and less wastefree; even more accurate branded colorfree; and advanced security.

In particular, Fiery FS500 Pro has additional tools that can detect errors within files. Fiery Preflight Pro offers more advanced preflighting, such as checking files for compliance with industry standards and specifications such as PDF/X, PDF/VT, PDF 2.0 and GWG (Ghent Workgroup).

EFI says print providers will benefit from faster job processing times and 40% faster application launch times to produce more jobs per shift.

EFI will launch its Fiery FS500 Pro platform digital print servers to drive new desktop printers and production presses from a variety of manufacturers. Fiery FS500 will also serve as the basis for blade server-based digital print servers developed for the new ultra-high-speed single-pass inkjet production presses coming to market.
