Start of the Finat label and packaging competition for young designers

To win the Finat competition, young designers must create an innovative and sustainable packaging line for a senior audience "that doesn't want to be labeled as old."

The challenge is on! The European Adhesive Label Industry Association, Finat, is launching the third edition of its #LABELicious design competition.
The competition is aimed at young European label and packaging designers and engineers aged 18 to 25. The association hopes to attract the next generation of talent in the fields of design, engineering and product development.

As in the previous edition, participants have to create packaging and labels for Genergise, a fictional brand for senior consumers composed of three products (energy drinks, skin care and vitamin supplements).
The problem posed to designers and graphic artists can be summarized as follows: "How do you develop a label and packaging for a senior audience, who don't want to be labeled as old-timers?"
"You need to combine your knowledge of the physical characteristics of this consumer group with your creative and technical design knowledge and ambitions." the brief emphasizes.

Registration is open from 1 er december 2021 to March 30, 2022. The winner(s) will be announced on April 28, 2022 at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels, Belgium. The winners, whose number is not defined in advance, will each receive 1000 euros.

"As the industry innovates, it is imperative that the search for young professionals with both traditional graphics skills and new digital skills remain active." emphasizes the professional association.

Finat also announced (with several months delay due to covid) the winners of the previous edition of #LABELicious The Portuguese Sabrina Bento and the Belgian Bjarne Castelein.
