"Our task is to use our technological strength to generate new business," said the new head of the German group Ludwin Monz.

After six years at the helm of the Heidelberg Group, Rainer Hundsdörfer is retiring and handing over to Ludwin Monz (58).

Ludwin Monz spent more than ten years as head of Carl Zeiss Meditec, a German company specializing in the production and marketing of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment. The 58-year-old has extensive experience in technology companies, including as head of development as well as head of various business units.

By taking over the management of Heidelberg, which is expected to achieve sales of 2.1 billion euros in its current fiscal year, Ludwin Monz will continue the group's strategy of opening up new markets.
"Our task is to use our technological strength to generate new business. To do this, we must sustainably increase profitability and resilience and make our existing technological know-how available for new markets in a targeted manner." he said in a statement.

"We are delighted to be able to hand over the chairmanship of the board of directors to the experienced hands of Ludwin Monz" says Martin Sonnenschein, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Heidelberg. "We would like to thank Rainer Hundsdörfer for his outstanding achievements and high level of commitment until the end of his mandate. With the successful establishment of e-mobility as a new business area (electric vehicle charging stations, editor's note) , he had a decisive influence on the company's realignment."

"For me, Heidelberg stands for innovation and excellence in press construction, leadership in the printing industry and 170 years of company history. I look forward to continuing to drive Heidelberg's success forward together with Marcus Antonius Wassenberg (Group CFO, Editor's note) and all my colleagues." added the new CEO on social networks.
