eXact 2, X-Rite's connected spectrophotometer with camera target

The eXact 2 is a portable spectrophotometer designed to combine ink, print and packaging workflows into one instrument.

X- Rite is launching a new non-contact portable spectrophotometer for the printing, ink and packaging industries. Called Xact 2, this color measurement tool has the particularity of being equipped with a camera target and being able to connect to X-Rite software.

eXact 2 features the new Mantis camera target technology. "With the Mantis camera sighting target, operators can be confident they are measuring the right area every time. What you see on the screen matches what is being measured." says Ray Cheydleur, X-Rite's product manager for printing and imaging.

The spectrophotometer integrates, via wi-fi, with a comprehensive system of software from the U.S. group and its subsidiary Pantone, including InkFormulation and ColorCert, which monitor print quality, PantoneLive digital color libraries and the X-Rite Link fleet management platform, to create a complete solution in a single portable instrument.

"We redesigned the award-winning eXact to be more than a measurement tool." says Chris Brooks, president of X-Rite. "eXact 2 is a complete solution that sits at the center of a color workflow. It is the most versatile, powerful, connected and easy-to-use tool in a printer's color arsenal." he says.
This connectivity would allow printers and converters to increase the speed of color matching to quality standards by 17%
