Feedback from experience / Fujifilm's Jet Press 750S at one of Europe's leading book publishers

Book printer Grafica Veneta has expanded its digital fleet with the Fujifilm Jet Press 750S to produce short-run covers.

Italy's Grafica Veneta is one of the leading book printers in Italy and Europe, producing 150 million books a year with sales of 100 million euros. The group, which employs 750 people, produces a wide variety of books, ranging from thousands of copies of literary successes to limited edition art books.

Looking to expand its digital printing capacity to produce short runs of covers, the Italian company turned to Fujifilm.
"We were already using Fujifilm's Jet Press 720S to print book covers. The quality was excellent, so when we discovered the Jet Press 750S, a machine that produces the same quality at higher speeds, we were immediately interested." says Nicola Franceschi, director of research and development at Grafica Veneta.

Shorter print times and shorter print runs

The Jet Press 750S digital sheetfed press reaches speeds of up to 3,600 B2 sheets per hour and features MaxGamut's extended color gamut, which allows it to print up to 90 percent of Pantone's library of 1,872 colors within a Delta E of 3 or less, depending on the substrate.

Installed since March 2021 in the Italian workshop, this Jet Press 750S gives full satisfaction to the printer. "We have shortened our overall print time on each job and improved our service to book publishers by offering shorter print runs."

New Fujifilm investment under consideration

Paolo Zerbi, General Manager of Fujifilm Graphic Communications Italy, said, " Grafica Veneta is a leader in the book printing industry. Producing millions of copies for some of the world's largest publishers, they have a firm grasp on quality and know what it takes to keep their customers happy. The Jet Press 720S has given them great results and we are thrilled with its impact over the past year."

Grafica Veneta now plans to further accelerate its production rate by switching to the Jet Press 750 S High Speed which reaches 5,400 sheets/hour.
