Three new inkjet pigment dispersion colors from Fujifilm

Seven colors make up the RxD pigment dispersion range for the formulation of water-based inkjet inks.

Orange, green and purple. Fujifilm expands the color range for its Reactive Dispersant (RxD) series of pigment dispersions for water-based inkjet ink formulation with these three new colors. They join the classic CMYK colors, offering an expanded gamut.

Designed for ink formulation in a wide range of applications such as packaging, textile and commercial printing, RxD pigment dispersions are used in aqueous ink developments by the manufacturer and other ink formulators.

Pigment dispersions are stable suspensions of a pigment in a liquid. It is the main coloring ingredient in the formulation of inkjet inks. Fujifilm's aqueous ink technology, RxD, is based on a cross-linked polymer cage, which blocks the pigment particles, resulting in a perfectly stable dispersion.

These pigments used in RxD dispersions comply with the Swiss ordinance SR817.023.21, concerning indirect food contact.

Over the past two years, Fujifilm has invested $47 million in RxD inkjet dispersion manufacturing, with the construction of its first manufacturing plant in the United States to open in 2022, and then with the expansion of its production capacities .
