Sidel completes its offer of labelling machines

Low and medium speed labelling machines will complete Sidel's offer.

Packaging machine supplier Sidel Group is expanding its labeling technology offerings. The 5,000-employee group has just acquired its Italian neighbor, Makro Labelling. The 120-employee labeling machine manufacturer is located in Mantua, near the group's labeling machine plant.

The portfolio of the company founded in 2009 includes modular labelers capable of applying up to five labels per bottle or vial, whether cold- or hot-glue labels, pressure-sensitive labels or combination versions. Its machines range in speed from 1,500 to 50,000 bottles per hour.
As for the subsidiary of the giant Tetra Laval, it has been offering labeling machines for some 40 years. Its machines reach speeds of 90,000 containers per hour.

"The low and medium speed modular labelers manufactured by Makro will complement our flagship high speed technologies that are manufactured at our Italian site in Mantua and integrated with Sidel packaging lines." explains Monica Gimre, director of Sidel.

"This acquisition by Sidel is an opportunity for development and growth for Makro Labelling," says Simone Marcantoni, managing director of Makro Labelling. After the acquisition, Makro will retain its full autonomy as a unit of Sidel Group and will continue to operate independently from its current headquarters. At the same time, we will be able to exploit and develop interesting synergies, exchange best practices and offer both an even richer experience to our employees and an expanded portfolio to our customers."
