Xeikon's Lion makes its debut in the label printing arena

Xeikon's Lion LX3000 toner label press, with its 330 mm print width and 42 m/min speed, features a new print quality control system.

For the first time, Xeikon presented The Lion LX3000 5-color dry toner label press to the public at Labelexpo Europe 2023 in Brussels, from September 11 to 14.

This 330 mm-wide printing machine boasts a speed of 42 m/min, 40% faster than Xeikon's CX and TX presses. The Lion uses Xeikon Eco toners and is compatible with a wide range of adhesive substrates.

Cruise Control System for flawless printing

In addition to its speed, its other major innovation is its Cruise Control System. This system "uses advanced vision technology and artificial intelligence to continuously monitor and automatically adjust print production parameters".
The Cruise Control System checks, adjusts and reports on five key parameters to ensure accurate color registration, density and consistency with the defined color reference. "Its precise automated quality control ensures that the final product meets the highest standards without manual intervention."
If the quality is not up to standard, the system marks the substrate directly. This marking then enables various actions to be taken in subsequent stages of the manufacturing process.

Frank Jacobs, Senior Product Manager, comments: "Brands have become accustomed to the advantages of digital printing, such as flexibility, quality and speed. Now (...) label printers can produce higher volumes of high quality and much more cost-effectively."
