Following a three-month beta test, German printing company Baur Offset, based in Villingen-Schwenningen, has invested in Fujifilm's workflow solution, XMF PressReady.
Baur Offset offers commercial and packaging printing using offset and digital methods. Business card printing is an important part of its offering. Dirk Wöbcke, Managing Director of Baur Offset, shares his experience of using this solution for this production.
XMFÂ PressReady from Fujifilm is a digital print workflow system that handles print jobs from multiple âeuros sources such as web-to-print, MIS systems or PDF files supplied by âeuros customers, and routes them to the appropriate digital press. It also automates routine and repetitive tasks, freeing up press operatorsâ?? time to concentrate on more important aspects of the production process.
Production times and costs reduced by at least 30%
At Baur Offset, XMF PressReady automatically renames incoming PDF business card files by customer name, number of copies required and print media. Based on these names, the workflow gathers and prepares the business cards for printing each week, sending them to the printer without any intervention on the part of the press operator.
Dirk Wöbcke, Managing Director of Baur Offset, explains: "Overall, our investment has enabled us to reduce turnaround times on individual jobs by 30-50%, cut costs by the same amount, and free up 15-20% more time for other work or new projects.
