With a strategic move to Barcelona, Spain, Labelexpo Europe 2025 intends to mark a new stage in its development. Informa Markets, organizer of the event, announces the largest-ever edition of this international gathering of the label and packaging printing industry. This 23rd European edition will be held from September 16 to 19, 2025, in the halls of the Fira Gran Via, a venue renowned for its capacity to welcome visitors and its international connections.

600 exhibitors already registered for September

Labelexpo Europe 2025 is expanding not only in surface area (+12% compared to the 2023 edition), but also in technological scope. Andrew Galloway, Labelexpo Global Series EMEA Director, points out that "this edition will cover all printing and converting technologies for the label, flexible packaging and now folding carton markets" adding that over 600 suppliers have already registered (compared with 637 participants in 2023), 15% of whom will be taking part for the first time.

This development reflects the growing convergence between digital and conventional technologies in the packaging world, and the expectations of visitors. At Labelexpo Europe 2023, over 25% of visitors expressed an interest in folding carton technology, and 40% in flexible packaging.

Labelexpo in constant evolution since 1980

This opening up to other packaging segments is explained by the transformation of production lines and the demands of principals, who expect more agile solutions, capable of handling different types of substrates on the same line. The show aims to respond to this trend, with a technological offering focused on hybrid and integrated digital solutions.

Historically, the first Labelexpo shows launched in 1980 focused on what was then the new technology of adhesive labels converted in-line on narrow-web presses.
As labels expanded into new formats - shrink sleeves, wrap-around labels, molded labels - Labelexpo adapted to integrate these new applications. Today, diversification into folding carton is a further step in this expansion process.
