Fogra-certified AccurioPress C84hc: a first for a high-chromaticity toner press

Konica Minolta's AccurioPress C84hc digital press becomes the first high-chromaticity toner press to achieve FograCert VPS certification.

This is a first for a so-called high-chromaticity toner press: Konica Minolta's AccurioPress C84hc has been awarded FograCert Validation Printing System (VPS) certification. This distinction, awarded by the German reference institute for the graphic arts industry, Fogra, ensures the system's compliance with ISO 12647-8, a standard that defines the requirements for a digitally produced proof to simulate standard offset printing.

The organization assessed the performance of the printing system launched last summer on the basis of numerous criteria: PDF/X compliance, colorimetric accuracy, uniformity, stability over time, mechanical resistance and ability to reproduce extreme tonal values. The AccurioPress C84hc met all these requirements with the Konica Minolta IC-609 controller, but also with the optional Fiery IC-317.

The AccurioPress C84hc is distinguished by its High Chroma toner, which extends the color space accessible in toner printing. Unlike traditional CMYK systems, the C84hc reproduces colors that are difficult to reproduce in four-color process printing, such as light cyan, bright pink, lime green and saturated violet.

This capability is particularly useful in graphic worlds where images are optimized in RGB: photography, digital communication, advertising design, photo albums or web-to-print prints.

Ines Wennemann, Product Manager at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe, emphasizes: " Customers already appreciated the many creative possibilities offered by the high-chromaticity toner, including the production of vibrant neon colors from CMYK toner. Today's Fogra certification confirms the commercial success achieved in Europe since the launch of the AccurioPress C84hc last year. It confirms once again that Konica Minolta presses offer color results of exemplary quality and reliability."

This technical recognition now enables Konica Minolta to offer a complete range of Fogra-certified digital color production presses.
