Heidelberg leading offset press sales in 2019

For the second year in a row, the German manufacturer confirmed its market share of almost 60%.

In 2019, 256 sheetfed offset printing units for all formats will be installed have been installed in France, according to figures from the National Union of Suppliers of Equipment for the Graphic Industries (SIPG). With a market share of 57% in terms of number of groups, Heidelberg France maintains its leading position for the second consecutive year (in 2018, the German manufacturer accounted for 59% of the units installed ).

In detail, Heidelberg is at the forefront in all formats - 35x50, 50x70 and 70x100 - with the exception of the very large format.

This good performance is due to the Push-to-Stop technology unveiled at Drupa 2016. "The new generation of push-to-stop machines significantly increases the productivity of an offset press, especially in a context of a general decrease in print runs and an increase in the number of files to be processed." says Cai von Rumohr, president of the French subsidiary of the German printing press manufacturer.

He goes on to say: "Heidelberg will continue to develop this technology and focus its future investments on the digital transformation of the entire graphics chain, which mainly means integrated solutions for Prinect software, offset and digital machines, consumables and services".
