The group has already invested 5 million euros last year and does not intend to stop there.

Despite a year 2019 "less shiny" than usual The Maury Imprimeur group does not intend to give up investments. "Our faith in this craft is intact." says Jean-Paul Maury, the CEO of Maury Imprimeur, which employs a thousand people. As proof, the group, which has five printing plants, a website dedicated to consulting and prepress and a subsidiary managing editorial and technical content, invested more than 5 million euros last year and has planned new investments for this year to further improve its competitiveness. Jean-Paul Maury explains these changes in detail.

Goss press and new Agfa CTPs in the Loiret region of France

Perhaps the most notable investment was the installation of a 16-page Goss press at the Malesherbes site in the Loiret region of France last November. The second-hand press, purchased from the Prenant Group, consists of five units and an economic cut-off "useful commodity for publishers." says Jean-Paul Maury.

In particular, the CTPs at the Loirétain printing plants in Malesherbes and Manchecourt have been replaced by new Agfa machines designed to produce 2,960 mm × 1,500 mm plates ready for use on new very large-format presses if the market demands it.

"We continue to modernize our shaping shop to improve its productivity by linking the routing machines to the broaching machines. The efficiency and time savings for the editors are very noticeable. Paper transfers, queues between finishing and routing, as well as waste are avoided. Today's sales prices require an online service without transfers under one roof."

And a major renovation project for the electronics of four Sunday presses that began last year is due to continue over 2020, 2021 and 2022.

A new Heidelberg 9 bands at Roto France

At the Roto France site in Lognes, Seine-et-Marne, which specialises in catalogues and magazines, a brand new 5-colour Heildelberg will be launched in September. This new Heidelberg XL 106 with 9 printing units plus varnish is currently being installed.

"It will facilitate the application of various varnishes recognized as being more environmentally friendly, such as matte, semi-matte and soft touch varnishes. Citéo is now penalizing UV varnishes financially" he says.
And this new press will be able to be fed with rolls of paper "in order to pass on to our customers the very advantageous price of roll paper."

And a Corona stitcher from Muller Martini completed the glued square back service, as well as a Sitma for the routing service.

One more Man Roland press for Normandie Roto Impression

The Normandie Roto Impression plant, located in Lonrai in the Orne region of France and specialising in books, will be equipped with a high-speed, wide-web Man ZMR (zero make ready) press in July 2020. "It has a suitable cut for general literature books and complements some of our facilities."

A second automatic tape laying line and three robots at the exits of the square back machines have already been installed.
"This factory is a jewel and has a very reliable service and a very consistent quality that is well known and appreciated." says the head of the company.

And always new solutions for publishers and industrials

"Thanks to Key Graphic and our subsidiary 4D Concept, we are developing high-performance software to offer solutions to publishers and manufacturers that make it easier for them to monitor their production and replenishment, all this in conjunction with the Millau digital factory, which is very efficient in terms of service quality for very small black and colour print runs
