Another manufacturer cancellation for Drupa 2021

It intends to take advantage of new means of communication and virtual experience.

After Xerox, Bobst, Komori or even Heidelberg a new exhibitor cancels his attendance at Drupa. Screen has decided not to participate in the 2021 edition of the major German graphic arts trade fair.

The Japanese manufacturer of inkjet and CTP presses says : "We made this decision on the basis of reasonable precautions, after considering the current context of the covid-19 pandemic and the increasing possibilities of virtual experiences offered by new communication technologies. With changing market and social conditions, we believe it is essential to accelerate timely communication with our customers and partners"

Three months before the event, in the face of the coronavirus epidemic, Messe Düsseldorf, the organisers of the exhibition, which takes place every four years, had to announce the postponement of the edition scheduled for June 2020. They had then revealed the new dates of the show reduced to nine days (instead of 11 as initially planned): the next Drupa should be held from Tuesday 20 to Friday 30 April 2021, still in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Last July, the organizers of the exhibition pointed out that despite "some cancellations" the reservations remained at "a high level" with more than 1,500 exhibitors and a surface area of more than 140,000 m² 2 . At the last Drupa in 2016, the 1,823 exhibitors present had occupied approximately 156,500 sq.m. of exhibition space 2 (read Drupa 2021 changes date again ).
