The most beautiful book dedicated to photography printed at La Manufacture d'Histoires Deux-Ponts

This work required an "intense collaboration between the different trades" of the workshops according to the printing company.

Every year since 1955, this award has distinguished the most beautiful book on photography published in France during the year. It is awarded in partnership with the National Library of France and the museum of photography in Chalon-sur-Saône, the Nicéphore Niépce Museum, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.

Among 99 books, the jury chose the work produced by the Isère-based printing company La Manufacture d'Histoires Deux-Ponts, The smell of the night was jasmine.. Photographs of the Franco-Spanish FLORE, written by Marguerite Duras and published by Maison CF.

The 130-strong printing plant in Bresson took charge of the production, pre-press and printing of this book in its original format of 17 cm x 31 cm and bound in Japanese. This 146-page book was printed on a traditional offset, two-colour and four-colour machine.

"It was born of a very beautiful and intense collaboration between the different trades" points out the printing company, which has 34 graphic arts trades in its workshops. "This is one of the most beautiful books we have fabriqué?!" adds the factory's bookbinding department.
