Fuji Xerox transforms into Fujifilm Business Innovation

Fuji Xerox turns the page on Xerox and asserts its ambitions beyond Asia.

Since April 1, Fuji Xerox has been known as Fujifilm Business Innovation and is showing its international ambitions. Fuji Xerox was created in 1962 by the merger of Japanese photographic equipment and solutions manufacturer Fujifilm and the American printing systems group Xerox. In November 2019, Xerox announced it would divest of this joint venture specializing in print reproduction systems.

This new name represents "the company's determination to constantly stimulate innovation" indicates on its site the Fujifilm subsidiary based in Tokyo.

"Now that we have moved under the internationally recognized Fujifilm brand, we will expand our business globally, says Kouichi Tamai, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Hisanori Makaya, President and CEO of Fujifilm Business Innovation. We intend to focus the technological prowess and knowledge of the Fujifilm Group to accelerate the creation of synergies to deliver breakthrough products and services to a wider range of customers.

Fuji Xerox achieved sales of ¥958.3 billion (?7.35 billion) in 2020, mainly in the Asian region and in the office printer and multifunction printing markets.

Fujifilm Business Innovation, which employs nearly 5,200 people, is expected to enter the market for solutions and services related to the cloud, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, among others.
