Canon's large format roll-to-roll family is growing. Canon introduces the latest addition to the family, the Colorado 1630. Like its larger sister, the Colorado 1650, the Colorado 1630 is modular, highly automated, FLXfinish compatible and uses Canon's Uvgel ink technology.
"This industrial printer is an ideal investment for companies operating in the large format market, offering them all the proven benefits of UVgel technology at a cost-effective rate as well as the ability to expand their business by processing smaller prints." says the manufacturer.
The Colorado 1650, for short and medium size prints
This 1625mm wide CMYK digital press is compatible with virtually any flexible media and offers 1,800dpi print quality. The 1630 uses Canon's UVgel 460 inks that produce "prints with perfect sharpness and offer a wide range of colors" he says.

In its fastest printing mode (suitable for banners or billboards, for example), the Colorado 1630 can print 111 m 2 /hour (159 m 2 /hour for the Colorado 1650). In high quality mode, the reel press reaches 29 m 2 /hour.
Colorado presses, a range of modular printing machines
In addition, its modular design allows it to adapt to the printing needs of each company.
A second roll of media can be added for added productivity.
An option to print on the inside and outside of the roll is available to further expand the variety of media supported.
Thanks to the FLXfinish led drying module, it is possible to choose the finish. Without changing the ink or the substrate, it allows you to obtain a matte or glossy finish. This module also allows printing on porous substrates (uncoated paper, flexible signage elements), opening the door to new applications.
Maximum printer availability
The Colorado is designed for maximum uptime. Ink refilling can be done on the fly, as well as nozzle control, printhead maintenance and paper feed adjustment.
It is also possible to connect to the press remotely. The Canon PRISMAsync Remote Control application (on IOS and Android) allows you to check the status of the printer and sends alerts (warning or error message).
