This new press allows for the application of gilding strips in the opposite direction of travel.

Bobst launches Novafoil 106, a versatile and compact hot foil stamping press with a cross foil function. Intended for manufacturers of high-end folding cartons, this finishing machine performs not only gilding, but also embossing, die-cutting and the application of holograms.

The Novafoil 106 is the first Bobst inline hot foil stamping press to feature a cross foil function. "Cross foil allows you to run foil strips in the opposite direction of travel and save web or put two different types of material in the same area of the travel direction." says the Swiss manufacturer.

The configuration of this new Bobst embellishing press can go up to 8 x 350 mm coils for in-line stamping, and up to 4 x 250 mm coils for cross-stamping.

This machine can process a wide range of complex films on paper-based substrates, solid board up to 2000 g/m 2 and corrugated boards up to 3 mm and supports large sheet sizes up to 1060 x 760 mm.

In addition, the press's various automations and ergonomics allow for quick setups and job changes, Bobst points out. The manufacturer has also ensured that the press has a small footprint (7.7 m long by 6.7 m wide).
