The Fedrigoni Top Award 2022 print design competition is launched

This year, Fedrigoni has made some changes to its annual contest.

The creative competition is launched! Registration for the 13th edition of the Fedrigoni Top Award is open. Each year, this international competition organized by the Italian paper group Fedrigoni rewards the most creative printed works made with the manufacturer's papers.

Designers, printers, publishers, brands and end customers are invited to present before February 1, 2022 their most beautiful creations created between July 2020 and January 2022 using Fedrigoni paper, labels and self-adhesive materials.

A 5th category added

This year, Fedrigoni is making some changes.
A fifth category is added: in addition to the publishing category (books, magazines, art editions), Visual identity (brochures, catalogs, invitations, calendars, agendas), Label (for wine, spirits, gourmet foods) and Packaging (packaging boxes, shopping bags, displays, lined containers), participants can compete in the Large format such as the personalization of means of transport and buildings, interior and exterior signage or the communication of exhibitions and events.

The criterion of sustainability taken into account

The Fedrigoni Top Award 2022 also focuses on sustainability.
The jury will always note the graphic originality, functionality, innovation, execution and appropriate use of materials, but also the sustainability of the project. It will take into account the entire life cycle of the project and the quality of the communication of its green references to the consumer.

Creations evaluated by an international jury

The jury will be composed of experts from the world of design and communication, such as Simon Esterson, member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), and art director of Eye Magazine and Pulp published by Fedrigoni, Marion Trossart, head of purchasing and packaging development at Interparfums Paris, Ivan Bell, CEO of Stranger & Stranger, a New York-based design agency for the spirits sector, and Han Jiaying, founder of the Chinese agency Han Jiaying Design & Associates.

The winners will be announced at the opening of the exhibition in Paris in the fall of 2022, which will feature 80 of the best projects.

Paper, a medium that is still relevant

"Pride in a job well done is a consistent characteristic we find in every project we receive, whether it's a small book for private distribution, a wine or gourmet food label, a cosmetic holder, a shopping bag or a tea caddy." commented Chiara Medioli, Fedrigoni Group's Director of Sustainability and Communications.

She emphasizes: "Year after year, this competition is an opportunity to merge creativity and experimentation, culture and technology, highlighting excellence and confirming the role of paper and labels as a design tool, starting with the ever-increasing need for sustainability in packaging. The hundreds of high-quality designs coming in from all over the world allow us to take stock of the state of the art today, but also to understand what direction to take and how to contribute to change."

In the previous edition, more than 1,100 designs from 32 countries were sent to Fedrigoni.
