Skin color reproduction guaranteed with Pantone SkinTone Validated

Pantone SkinTone Validated ensures that the 110 colors of the Pantone SkinTone Guide palette are faithfully reproduced on printers, monitors or mobile devices.

Pantone is launching the SkinTone Validated program for manufacturers of printing machines, displays, televisions and mobile devices. With this patent-pending program, the U.S.-based color technology group can ensure that colors displayed or printed with tested devices accurately reproduce the skin tones in the Pantone SkinTone Guide palette.

Launched in 2012, the Pantone SkinTone Guide contains 110 skin tones based on thousands of human skin color measurements from a wide range of ethnicities and age groups.

The SkinTone Validated program is the world's first skin color testing and validation program with a U.S. patent pending methodology. This program is an extension of Pantone Validated, which guarantees the reproduction of Pantone Matching System colors.

The logo allowing to recognize the products Pantone SkinTone Validated looks like the logo of the program Pantone Validated. The blue checkbox is replaced by a mosaic of skin color.

The American brand of screens and projectors BenQ is one of the first customers to have made test its products. Other customers of Pantone SkinTone Validated will be announced soon also made known Pantone.
