The beginning of the end of preloaded Pantone color charts at Adobe is now

Only three Pantone color charts will remain in future updates.

As we announced in last January, the libraries of Pantone colors preloaded with Adobe are destined to disappear, Pantone not being able to update the Adobe library fast enough.

This gradual disappearance was to begin last March, but Adobe has postponed their deletions of a few months: the U.S. brand indicates today that the Pantone colors are removed from Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop gradually from the updates published after August 16, 2022.

Adobe also gives a new precision. The editor announces that after November of this year, the only Pantone Color shades still preloaded will be the libraries Pantone + CMYK Coated, Pantone + CMYK Uncoated and Pantone + Metallic Coated.

And Adobe confirms that the users of Adobe software will have to download the extension Pantone Connect from Adobe Extension Marketplace and to subscribe to Pantone Connect. Subscription paying of course.

For existing files, users should still be able to access their colors through the integration of color data in their files.
