U.S. printing giant Quad/Graphics acquires Landa S10P

Quad plans to produce "faster than ever" and offer print customization for each customer's business.

It's a big name in printing that the Landa manufacturer has just added to its customer list. Quad, the U.S.-based printing group with $3 billion in sales in 2021, has ordered a nanographic press. The machine with printing technology invented by Landa will produce the prints of the In-Store Solutions department, which serves the print needs of retailers.

The model, a Landa S10P, is a 7-color B1 perfecting press. It reaches the 6 500 sheets per hour and would reproduce, according to Landa, 96 % of the Pantone colors.
Quad's Landa S10P features a dual recipe option that allows two pallets to be placed side by side at the press exit and sort jobs from each other.

"The S10P will produce high-quality images for retail businesses in the shortest time frame we have ever offered, says Tim Ohnmacht, president of In-Store Solutions at Quad. Double-sided panels, measuring up to 41 inches, in any color brands request, will be printed and shipped faster than ever. Brands will be able to respond and execute market changes with greater frequency - much greater frequency."

Quad also plans to offer customization for each retailer. " euros 6,500 sheets per hour, every image on a sheet, and every sheet, in any run length, can be customized."
