Present at the All4Pack trade show held recently in Villepinte, the Bouches-du-Rhône company specializing in automated packaging, Durrenberg, presented its latest product, the "Cubilette", a packaging system for small cardboard parcels whose simplicity of use is surprising in a sector full of technology. For Bernard Dominici, Durrenberg's sales manager, this small machine is "as simple as a potato masher" .
The Cubilette, for custom-made cardboard packages
The basic model is entirely mechanical: a corner of the filled American box is inserted under a sensor. A lever operated by the operator lowers the sensor which will locate the height of the contents and score the side of the box over two thirds of its length. The only constraint is that the first corner inserted must be that of the high point of the contents.
Simply repeat the same operation successively on the other three corners which will be marked identically, fold the flaps made by the Cubilette and tape.

Packaged products without waste
For Bernard Dominici, this packaging system allows for the best possible adjustment of the delivery costs of the cartons: less material is needed to wedge the products, used cartons can be reused, and above all, transport costs are reduced because in this field, the weight used to calculate the cost is the dimensional weight (length x width x height).

Durrenberg offers its Cubilette (process and trademark registered) in three models: fully mechanical, electrically assisted and finally semi-automatic.
This range covers a flow ranging from 50 to 500 boxes per day and can process cardboard boxes of very different sizes. Ideal for printers who have to produce packages on a daily basis.
