Siegwerk launches Sicura Litho Pack, a new generation of UV offset inks

The Sicura Litho Pack range of UV offset inks for paper, board and closed media will replace the Sicura Plast SP range by the end of 2023.

To address brand safety concerns, Siegwerk is launching the Sicura Litho Pack UV offset ink and coating series, which will replace the Sicura Plast SP line. The new series does not contain trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA), benzophenone or substances classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic (CMR).

The low-odour Sicura Litho Pack range is formulated to offer greater versatility of use on board and on a wide range of firm substrates, says the manufacturer.
Sicura Litho Pack is particularly suitable for packaging jobs on classic cardboard substrates and on complex substrates of the luxury industry, such as metallized papers, aluminum laminates, metallized polyester, treated aluminum, but also on synthetic substrates such as treated polypropylene, polyester, polystyrene, PVC.
The prints can be overprinted with UV varnishes or laminated as well as on cold or hot foil stamping.

The series requires low humidity parameters.

Like the recently launched Sicura Litho Pack Eco range, it also features "excellent deinking properties", according to the Ingede 11 method and "thus contributes to easier recycling of UV printed packaging" says Jerome Fumex, Product Manager Business Unit Sheetfed at Siegwerk.

This range will replace the previous range by the end of 2023. "We made sure to keep the exact same colorimetry on the mixing bases to avoid any reformulation work on our customers' existing recipes."
