Antaro, Muller Martini's range of on-demand glued square-back machines

Both bindery systems achieve 2,000 cycles/hr for digital products and 4,000 cycles/hr for offset products.

Müller Martini launches a new range of glued square-backs for on-demand production. The series is available in two compact versions, Antaro and Antaro Digital.

Combined with a collator, a three-knife trimmer and equipped with 12 grippers, the Antaro model achieves an output of 4,000 cycles/hour for offset jobs.

Whether fed manually or in-line with the SigmaLine Compact digital book production system, the Antaro Digital 6-clamp model produces books at up to 2,000 cycles per hour, "a production rate that no other machine on the market today can match", says the Swiss manufacturer.
Muller martini designed the Antaro Digital with a relatively small footprint (9.3 × 3.5 m). And this model operates with half as many operators as current single-book production solutions.

The Antaro Digital enables continuous production of individual books, with block thickness variation from one product to the next of up to 20 mm. Thickness is automatically adapted to each block.

The Antaro handles all common types of book blocks, such as pre-glued blocks, sewn book bodies or single sheets, and produces softcover, hardcover and flat brochures (such as Swiss and Otabind).
This range of binders is compatible with the use of EVA hot-melt glue
and PUR hot-melt adhesive.
