Graphius Group halves the waste generated by liquids from plate preparation by using Eco3 chemistry-free plates.

The Belgian Graphius Group, with its 500,000 m 2 of aluminum printing plates used per year is one of Europe's largest printers, has recently opted for Adamas chemistry-free offset printing plates from Eco3, to improve its ecological footprint.

Denis Geers, CEO of Graphius, which operates eight production sites and employs 550 people, explains: "We will reduce waste generated by liquids from plate preparation by at least 50%. The decision to use Adamas plate is linked to the ecological benefits and performance of the product itself. And it's important for us to choose a partner with production capacity in Europe (in Germany, editor's note) because transport also has a major ecological impact."

Frederik Dehing, Global Sales Manager at Eco3, adds: "Adamas plates require no rinse water and are washed with a very limited amount of gum, making them a truly environmentally friendly choice."

What's more, after printing, aluminum offset plates are recycled, and over 99% of the aluminum is reused.

Eco3 is the group's former offset plate division Agfa division to be sold to Aurelius investment group in 2023 .
