Fujifilm and Barberan announce the first sale of the HS series single-pass inkjet platform, a sale concluded on Barberán's Drupa 2024 stand on May 30. The Fujifilm HS6000, born of the collaboration announced in October 2022 between the two manufacturers, will join Linney, a full-service marketing agency based in the UK with 1,200 employees.
Aimed at the sign and display market, the HS6000 digital press combines the engineering of Spain's Barberán with the ink chemistry and inkjet technology know-how of Japan's Fujifilm.
With 600 DPI printheads, the machine offers "excellent print quality" even at maximum speeds, thanks to an optional second channel. The Fujifilm HS6000 uses a new Fujifilm ink and primer, developed at Fujifilm's Broadstairs factory in the UK. With a length of over 30 m, it prints up to a width of 1.6 m, at speeds reaching 6000 m 2 /h and handles a wide range of substrates, including plastics and particleboard.
Linney, a UK agency with over 1,200 employees, offers print production as well as a full range of digital services. In 2009, it was one of the very first companies to adopt Fujifilm's Inca Onset range.
Charles Linney, director of the company founded in 1851 and the sixth generation to work in the business, declares: "It's very important for the company to keep abreast of the evolving technologies available in the industry, and it's something we keep a close eye on. The HS series really seems to be a huge step forward and will help us meet the ever-increasing speed to market that our customers need."
The company manager was looking for a solution that combined reliability, speed, quality and availability. "On all these measures, the HS series has impressed us enormously. It's 5 to 10 times faster than previous technology, the quality is fantastic and our operators have been very impressed."
