Kodak made its mark at the recently concluded Hunkeler Innovationdays 2025 in Lucerne, Switzerland, by demonstrating the speed capabilities of the Prosper 7000 Turbo rotary press. The inkjet printer "the fastest in the world printed clichés from the film The Last Showgirl (by Gia Coppola, starring Pamela Anderson) and music videos by Kesha and AntsLive, which, thanks to the speed at which they run on the reel, reproduced the effects of a film projection.
Unrivalled print speed of 410 meters per minute
The Prosper 7000 Turbo ran in turbo mode, reaching a speed of 410 meters per minute with Kodak Ektacolor aqueous inks. This exceptional throughput generated animated sequences directly visible on the monitors of the press-integrated quality control system.
This demonstration was to showcase the machine's ability to handle a wide variety of high-volume print jobs, such as direct mail, commercial, transactional and book printing.

From silver halide film to high-speed inkjet printing
Showcasing this footage shot on Kodak film and then printed on the Prosper 7000 Turbo Press reflects Kodak's desire to link its heritage in silver halide film with its innovations in digital printing.
"With this unique demonstration, we celebrate our heritage in film and our current advances in high-speed inkjet technology." said Jim Continenza, Executive Chairman and CEO of Kodak. "This combination highlights our ongoing commitment to innovation and the development of cutting-edge technologies that will revolutionize and advance the printing industry."
